Without meaning to romanticize disability, but I find there’s oftentimes something special when it comes to blind artists. Their lost vision seems to strengthen their other senses including hearing. I guess intuitively this makes sense to me.
Ray Charles is a great example, as are Stevie Wonder and Jose Feliciano.
They always said Sugar Ray Robinson was pound for pound the greatest boxer ever– I”d say Ray Charles- pound for pound the greatest all around singer ever.
