Petty was hands down one of the best songwriters in rock history. While he was widely admired, I think he deserved to be considered on the same level as a Springsteen, as a Dylan. Incredible tragedy that we lost him so prematurely. I feel incredibly lucky to have seen him in concert at least once. Kick myself now for not taking the opportunity to see him again.
