So many great songs on NPR’s list of the top 200 songs by woman artists of this century – here’s one that caught my ear the other day.
Fellow music blogger Christian’s Music Musing recently did a post about Toto, and it made me realize how much I loved this song at the time (and still do)!
Some songs are instantly recognizable by a great opening riff. One of my all time favorites from one the first albums I ever owned.
These lads from Liverpool have been around for years and have had a lot of chart success in the UK, but this album seems to be a leap forward artistically. They also remind me a bit of an American band…….. “The Death Cab is strong in this one.”
Sometimes the thing I need the least in music is understated subtlety . Sometimes it just needs to be loud and hard . Who’s better at that than these guys?
I’m betting you haven’t heard of this band (they have 50 followers on Spotify). But that’s the great thing about the Internet. Thanks to a review from fellow music blogger The Soul of a Clown I am loving this band and song. Reminds me of The Hold Steady with a dash of Green Day
