I’m really liking the new album by this band. This song is a standout.

Mike and Paul’s Music Blog is seeing Steve Earle tonight! He’ll be playing Copperhead Head in its entirety. He’s my favorite track from that album.

This is likely one of the sadder songs you’ll ever hear.
Song of the Day 11/24/18 Danny and the Champions of the World “Waiting for the Right Time”
Nice little slice of American-style roots rock. Surprisingly though, these guys are from the UK.
Song of the Day 11/23/18 Foo Fighters “The Pretender”
Impossible for me to pick a favorite song from this band but if I could pick a top five, this would definitely be in it.
Song of the Day (TBT) 11/22/18 Arlo Guthrie “Alice’s Restaurant Thanksgiving Day Massacree”
This song, from 1967, has become the centerpiece of our Thanksgiving playlist. In my house, we’ve been playing it on Thanksgiving day for years. It’s ostensibly about Thanksgiving but really it was conceived as a Viet Nam antiwar protest song.
Song of the Day TBT 11/22/18 Sugar – If I Can’t Change Your Mind
I remember buying this album in 1992 for one of the other songs on it that I had heard on the radio and then being blown away by this song – one of those songs I could put on unlimited repeat and not get tired of. One of the YouTube comments for this song says “Bob Mould is Jesus, and anyone who doesn’t agree has cloth ears or hates music” – ok, kind of extreme but with this song I’m not going to argue very much.

Song of the Day 11/21/18 Steve Earle – Hard-Core Troubadour
Continuing to listen to Steve Earle discography to prep for next week’s concert! This one is another favorite one of mine. Off his comeback album of sorts, I Feel Alright (which may be my second favorite album of his after Exit 0). The thing that puts this song over the finish line for me (or the icing on the cake if you will) is the Springsteen Rosalita reference right towards end!
