While with most of their songs I feel ELO took the wall of sound concept to massive somewhat overproduced levels, there is no doubt Jeff Lynne has an ear for catchy melodies, and this one’s a classic!
I especially like the bridge with the falsetto “don’t bring me down” followed by what I always thought was the word Bruce but is actually “Groos”. According to Wikipedia I wasn’t alone!
