pretty cool song by the My Morning Jacket front man. I especially like the distorted guitar sound.

Song of the Day 11/19/18 The Dandy Warhols “All the Money or the Simple Life Honey”
I’ll admit it. The name of this band got my attention, then the music.
Song of the Day 11/18/18 The Wild Reeds – Be The Change
The Wild Reeds are a alt country/folk female trio from Los Angeles. I really love their vocal harmonies – here’s one from their most recent EP New Ways to Die
Song of the Day 11/19/18 Bob Dylan “Knockin on Heaven’s Door”
This song has been covered many many times. Sometimes well, Eric Clapton and Warren Zevon to name two and sometimes not so well, Axl Rose’s screechy annoying version comes to mind.
Original wins hands-down for me
Song of the Day 11/17/18 The Vaccines “I Can’t Quit”
The name of this band was the first thing that caught my attention. This song is pretty catchy
Song of the Day 11/17/18 Steve Earle – I Ain’t Ever Satisfied
I’ve been listening to a lot of Steve Earle lately in preparation for seeing him in a few weeks. I think of all of his songs this is my favorite – off his second album Exit 0
“I said no thanks Pete I’m just moving along.” !!!!!
Song of the Day 11/16/18 Flogging Molly “Drunken Lullabies”
Great barn burner of a song from a terrific band. Video gives only a small window into how great they are live.
Song of the Day TBT 11/15/18 Fountains of Wayne – Stacy’s Mom
I have always loved the pure power pop of NJ’s Fountains of Wayne. This was their only big radio hit, but they have so many great songs. For those who don’t know, their name comes from an outdoor lawn fountain store in Wayne, NJ – I believe it was even featured one time on a episode of The Sopranos. Hilarious video featuring Rachel Hunter as well.
Song of the Day 11/11/18 Kelly Moran – Helix
Kelly Moran is a NY based artist who mixes prepared piano* with electronic influences to create simple but wonderfully complex compositions. This piece is off her new album Ultraviolet. Perfect for a Sunday morning.
* prepared piano is a technique where the piano’s sound is altered, usually by placing objects on the strings’ to change their sound.
Song of the Day 11/9/18 Iron and Wine “Love Vigilantes”
How have I not ever managed to feature Iron and Wine? That changes today. Beautiful thoughtful music.
For those who served and sacrificed.
