This band from LA worked on Tom Petty’s “Hypnotic Eye” and have been touted by Steve Van Zandt. Pretty good resume for any band!

You tell them Willie!
When my daughter Hanna was born in 1999, this became her song. It was as if Van Morrison had been inspired by her years before she was even born. We’re visiting our baby at college this weekend and this song has been quietly playing in the back of my mind.
Quick! What’s your favorite indie band from Providence RI?…. How about Deer Tick.
And no , this is not a cover of OutKast’s “Hey Ya”
Anither great band from Athens , Georgia. The horns are my favorite part of this song.
There are a lot of versions of this song out there. This one is one of the best.
I’ll always connect Jack Johnson with Sunday morning. For years when my kids were in high school and after, we volunteered (insisted) to host the post prom parties, New Year’s Eve parties, etc. We did it for peace of mind to ensure the kids would be safe (no booze) and still have fun. Half the fun for me was getting up the next morning and making a big breakfast for a bunch of sleepy teenagers . I always had some Jack playing. Nothing like puttering in the kitchen with the smells of coffee, bacon, pancakes (I favor banana)…….
Just a little bit of pop eat candy. Love this song. Always gets me moving
Latter day Stones music gets brushed off in favor of their classics but I love this song.
So it’s a 1993 performance by the former lead singer of the band who originally did the song in the 80s. I’m traveling home after s few days away so this song is perfect..
side note.. it’s an SNL performance introduced by Charleston Heston. Times have changed.
