Song of the Day 8/1/18 Phantastic Ferniture – ‘Bad Timing’

Australian folk singer Julia Jacklin wanted to do something different. “I’d gone straight into folk music, so every experience I’d had on stage was playing sad music with a guitar in my hand. I thought, I would love to know what it’s like to make people feel good and dance.” Phantastic Ferniture is the result of that desire.

Song of the day 7/29/18 Dawes – “Now That it’s too Late Maria”

I think Paul and I had the same thought for a Sunday morning, something gentle .

“All your Favorite Bands” has, without me even noticing, become one of my favorite albums. Taylor Goldsmith has a way with lyrics and I truly believe he’s on the way to being one of the best songwriters of his generation. When you take that with subtle, beautiful guitar you get this great song.

Song of the Day Josh Ritter – ‘Getting Ready to Get Down’

Off his album of a few years back Sermon on the Rocks.  I first saw him do this in concert acoustically a few months before the album was released.  Catchy as hell – about being true to yourself despite the best efforts of others to change you.
