If I closed my eyes and pointed at a random song from a list of Warren Zevon songs, I couldn’t choose poorly. Here’s one for a rainy Monday.

Song of the Day 9/9/18 Terje Isungset “Fading Sun”
Terje Isungset is a Norwegian percussionist and composer who creates music using instruments he creates from ice. He evens performs concerts with these instruments (usually in Norway and Russia for obvious reasons!). Music definitely for quiet moods.
Song of the Day 8/9/18 REM -“Nightswimming”
I forget sometimes how much great music REM made. This is an under the radar favorite of mine. Love the imagery in this song
Song of the Day 9/8/18 Ryan Culwell “ Can You Hear Me ?”
Bit of a Springsteenesqe Quality to this singer. His question at the beginning of the song “is anyone out there alive?” Seems to be a nod to The Boss
Song of the Day 9-8-18 The Knickerbockers – Lies
Recently I’ve been digging into Nuggets (get it?), the great compilation set of 60’s garage rock and psychedelic songs originally put together by Lenny Kaye. So much great stuff! Here’s one favorite. Obviously pretty song Beatles influence here.
Song of the Day 9/7/18 Drive by Truckers “Let there be Rock”
Something about southern rock…..
Song of the Day TBT The Records – Starry Eyes
Great late 70’s power pop from England (HT to fellow blogger Aphoristical for reminding me of this band)
Song of the Day 9/6/18 (TBT) Rod Stewart “ The First Cut is the Deepest”
This classic was later covered by Sheryl Crow. And while I like that version, this remains the gold standard.
Song of the Day 9/4/18 Son Volt “Drown”
One of my favorite songs from the early 90s country movement.
Song of the Day – The Boomtown Rays – I Don’t Like Monday’s
Even though it’s Tuesday, it sure feels like Monday to me (given Labor Day holiday yesterday). And I’m not feeling it. At least not until after listening to this song.
