When I was about 14, I asked for music by The Beatles for a Christmas present. I was thinking White Album but what I got was a compilation called Beatles Love Songs which was fine but not exactly the Rock and Roll I had in mind. Norwegian Wood was on that album and I was “ meh” about the song.
Well, chalk it up to youthful stupidity. This song is amazing.
I woke up this morning in the mood for a little Paul Westerberg, then I realized there are about 1000 songs by him that I like. Here’s one of them
It seems like it’s been 100 weeks in a row of cloudy Sundays so when I woke up and saw the sunshine this morning I knew I wanted something a little more upbeat than my usual Sunday morning pic. This is the song from their 1987 album “By the Light of the Moon“ This was the album that introduced me to Los Lobos .
Great band from Texas it’s been around more than 20 years it always seems to just be on the edge of making it big. Kind of rock, kind of country, kind of punk, and this one’s a little bit more on the side of pop.
One of my ALLTIME favorite songs. Turn it up loud. Trust me . You won’t regret it.
My first ever concert in 10 th grade was Genesis. This song brings back memories.
I planned this song yesterday before our winter storm turned into a big sloppy rainy slush fest.
I heard this song for the first time yesterday while I was on the treadmill and it made me chuckle. The woman on the next machine gave me a look like I was a little nuts. Great song from a punk band from that hotbed of punk music…… Wyoming.
This is from their 2007 album, Reunion Tour. I really just like the image that the title suggests. Former members of a politically voiced punk band formed the Weakerthans and produced much more introspective music like this one and “ A Cat Named Virtute” (Frank Turner fans my recognize that one)
