The collaboration between Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris seemed to come out of nowhere but it produced a great album ( All the RoadRunning) and this terrific song, one of my favorite songs about marriage. Olafur Arnalds is an Icelandic composer and multi-instrumentalist. I love how this song starts very contemplative, but then progresses to a more upbeat tone, as if to say its fine to ponder and consider, but at some point you need to get out and do.
Lucy Dacus is from Richmond VA and start getting attention a few years ago with this song about trying to shed people’s conceptions of who you should be. Short, simple, but catchy as hell
I’ve always had a rather odd relationship with Dave Matthews music. It seems whenever I like a song or an album, I find out that the critics or long time fans seem to hate that very song or album. So I’ll try again. Here’s one I really like from the new album.
I just recently finished re-watching Breaking Bad, one of the all time greatest series in TV history (in my humble opinion). This is the song that accompanies the last scene. Great use of music, and a great great song!
This four man band from Michigan has only been in existence since 2017 but they sound like they’ve been doing this a lot longer. Classic rock and R&B influences jump out at you. Lead singer is almost channeling Robert Plant in this great song.
