Song of the Day 9/30/18 Avett Brothers “Murder in the City”
”Always remember, there is nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name” – One of my favorite all- time lyrics, and the theme of my daughter and son in law’s wedding.
Song of the Day 9/29/18 John Mellencamp “R.O.C.K in The USA”
Sometimes you just need to hear a song that reminds you of that one really great day
Song of the Day 9/28/18 Doc Robinson “Drive Slow”
Here’s one to eeeeeease you into the weekend.
Song of the Day TBT The Who – “My Generation”
From their debut album this song has all it all – Moon’s barely in control drumming, Entwistle’ bass solo, Townshend’s power chords and Daltrey’s stuttering vocals. About as classic as you can get!
Song of the Day (TBT) 9/27/18 – ELO “Don’t Bring Me Down”
Is Jeff Lynne a genius? I don’t know but he is one of the more underrated performers of the 70s , 80s and 90s.
Song of the Day 9/26/18 Bad Moves “Give it a Shot”
D.C.’s Bad moves say they make “power pop for people who think a lot”. Well, I think , and I like it….. a lot
Song of the Day 9/25/18 Last Great Dreamers – “Primitive Man”
Here’s a great power pop song to get you going on a Tuesday. A little more on the hard edge of power pop but I’ll take it. Last Great Dreamers are an English band that first formed in the 90s, broke up and looks like reformed in 2014.
Thanks to music blogger The Soul of a Clown for highlighting this group recently.
Song of the Day 9/25/18 Cracker “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)”
Another favorite of mine from the early 90s
Song of the Day 9/24/18 Fastball “We’re On Our Way”
Not exactly one hit wonders but this band has been off my radar since their 1998 minor hit “The Way”. Here’s a recent release for your Monday morning.
